Smart presented at the Paris Motor Show, the 2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour. Both cars are based on the same platform as the new Renault Twingo and they have the same engines as the Twingo.
The ForTwo has a length of 2.69 meters, width of 1.66 meters, length of 1.55 meters and a wheelbase of 1,873 meters while the ForFour, is 3.49 meters long, 1.66 meters wide, 1.55 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2,494 meters. The first has a turning circle of 7.3 m, and the second 8.95 m.
The two models of Smart will be available with two three-cylinder engines: a 1 liter atmospheric producing 71 hp with 91 Nm torque and a 0.9 liter turbo producing 90 hp with 135 Nm of torque. Later a range of petrol engines, a pure electric version with a 87 hp motor, a three-cylinder diesel engine, as well as the stronger version of Brabus will be added. All internal combustion engines are combined to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a twinamic 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Sales of new ForTwo and ForFour will start in this November at a price close to the price of the old model. The standard equipment will include: cruise control, keyless entry and a LCD display on the instrument panel while the more expensive versions will have added options such as a JBL audio system, heated seats and a multifunction steering wheel.
