Volkswagen presented at Paris the XL Sport, a prototype sports car that is equipped with a Ducati engine. The concept is a sport version of the XL1, equipped with the engine of the Ducati 1199 Superleggera that delivers 200 hp and enables the car to do the 0-100 km/h from in just 5.7 seconds, having a top speed of 270 km/h.
The 1.199 liter engine with titanium connecting rods is capable of 11,000 rpm and it is combined with an automatic 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The car features 18 inch forged wheels made of magnesium alloy, ceramic brakes, rear push-rod suspension, while the body was made with CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) so the weight can be at 890 kilos!
The XL Sport, benefits from the extremely low aerodynamic drag coefficient not exceed 0.258 and as you can see in the pictures, it is equipped with “butterfly” doors, which when opened, reveal the simple but stylish interior.
