Land Rover prepared a promo video for the Range Rover sport, featuring the former Stig, Ben Collins. The video shows the car descending a difficult route on the mountains of Switzerland.
The route is the longest ski slope in the world, the legendary Inferno Race in the village of Muhren, in the Swiss Alps. This circuit has been used to film scenes of the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) with Collins to drive the Range Rover Sport really fast.
For security reasons, Land Rover’s engineers had placed a roll cage in the car and had disabled the airbags, since after putting the roll cage they did not have enough room to open. Collins took 21 minutes and 36 seconds to finish the downhill, reaching speeds up to 154.5 km/h!
