The new generation of the BMW X5 will have a new look, technology and a top 600 hp version, according to rumors. The car is already being tested at Nurburgring and it will be presented next year, at the Paris Motor Show of 2018. Before the new X5, BMW will present the X2.
Today’s 3rd generation uses the platform of the second generation that was launched in 2006. The new car will use the new CLAR architecture that is used also in the 5 Series and the 7 Series. It will use materials like steel, aluminium, carbon fiber and magnesium. The aim is none other than the significant weight reduction compared with the current generation of the model.
The range of engines will include 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines from the 5 Series. At the top of the range there will be the X5 M, that will be equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that will produce 600 hp, that will be transferred to all the wheels.
