Back in 2004 Volkswagen presented at Detroit the Concept T. The unusual exterior of the car, combined features of a coupe, a convertible and a buggy, making it practically impossible to rank in only one category.
It had two seats, doors that opened upwards (like a Lamborghini), a hardtop and a high ground clearance. At the back it had a removable cover, that contained the spare wheel.
It was equipped with a V6 engine producing 240 hp, with the power passing to all four wheels through a Tiptronic gearbox. The Concept T was able to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.9 seconds and it had a top speed of 230 km/h.
