Land Rover is preparing the Coupe version of the Range Rover Sport, that will be the main competitor of the Mercedes GLE Coupe and the BMW X6. According to rumors the car will have an electric version.
The Range Rover Sport Coupe will be based on the same aluminum platform as the Jaguar F-Pace, while it will be available with an extensive range of engines. It is known that Jaguar-Land Rover have been developing an electric powertrain for upcoming Jaguar models and it seems that this will also be used by Land Rover. Other possible versions, such as a hybrid will probably be based on the 3.0-liter SDV6 engine of the Range Rover Sport, while the top version will be equipped with a 5-liter, supercharged V8. The model is expected to be launched in 2017.
