Peugeot had presented at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show the Hybrid4 MPV, a 6-seater hybrid MPV Concept, that had a length of 4,954 mm, a height of 1,990 mm and an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd.
Peugeot named the car “Metamorphosis” as it can be transformed depending on the driving conditions and how many people it can carry. Its rims had 7 spokes, that formed a flat surface when the car was moving, for better aerodynamics, while it also had a side spoiler that was placed at the top of the rear doors and it opened at speeds in excess of 100 km/h.
Its interior was futuristic and it could carry up to 6 passengers in 3 rows of seats. It used materials such as oak wood, aluminium, marble and leather.
Mechanically it was equipped with a 1.4-liter HDi diesel engine that powered the front axle, combined with an electric motor of 70 kW (95 hp) which powered the rear axle. The total horsepower of its hybrid system reached 299 hp with 450 Nm torque and at low speeds it could be moved exclusively with the electric motor for 30 kilometers. The two engines were combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission and the car had an average fuel consumption of 3.2 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of 83 gr/km.
