Skoda published the first official photos of the Fabia R5, before it makes its official debut at the Essen Motor Show. The Skoda Fabia R5 is based on the third generation of the popular small hatch of the Czech company and will replace the Fabia S2000 in the WRC-2 category of the World Championship.
The Fabia R5 features an aggressive body kit, that consists of wider fenders, a rear spoiler, large wheels with equally large brakes, a roof scoop, tiny mirrors and a centrally positioned exhaust tailpipe. According to the regulations of the class, the Fabia R5 will be equipped with a four-cylinder, 1.6 liter turbocharged engine that will be combined with a 5-speed sequential gearbox. The weight of the car should be at least 1,230 kg.
