Toyota from 2015 will provide new active LED lights with its cars. The LED Array Adaptive High Beam System (LED Array AHS) as Toyota calls them, provide a wider range of lighting without dazzling drivers, front facing carsĀ orĀ pedestrians.

Within the city, a low and wide beam sufficiently illuminates the road, on the motorway, the beam is focused farther giving a bigger field of view to the driver. Once the system detects pedestrians ahead or a passing car, it changes the angle of the beam. This is achieved by a series of LED having the ability to individually regulate their inclination.
