The car will be equipped with a 4-liter V8 bi-turbo engine, that in the standard version will yield 573 hp with 750 Nm of torque, while the S version will produce 612 hp with 850 Nm of torque. The engine will be combined with a new 9-speed automatic transmission.

The simple version of the new sporty sedan of Mercedes will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, while the S version in just 3.5 sec, with both versions having a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h.

The car’s official presentation will be made at the Paris auto show, with the German company offering it also in an estate version.

Tobias Moers, head of AMG, has confirmed that the E63 AMG will be only four-wheel drive in all markets and according to him the car will be a “revolution” and not an evolution, while he also stressed that the new super-saloon will be “the biggest step ever made by an AMG E-Class”.
