Jaguar is testing with a mule of the XE in Nürburgring. This car is equipped with the same V6 engine as the F-Type with the entry-level model of Jaguar, adopting several design elements from the XF. It will make its debut in Paris exhibition next September and its sales will start early 2015. It will be built on the new rear-wheel drive iQ [Al] aluminum platform of Jaguar, having a codename X760.

Regarding the mechanical part, the model will be provided with a plurality of sets, between of which will be the 3.0 -liter V6 engine of the F-Type which will be placed in the top version, producing somewhere between 340 and 380 hp, with a top speed of 300 km/h. In addition to the V6 engine, the model will be offered with a variety of engine sets, with the smallest being a 2.0 liter turbo diesel that will emit less than 100 g/km CO2.
It is available in both coupe and estate version in order to help significantly double the sales of the British company. The XE will be placed against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class, it will be manufactured at the Land Rover plant in Solihull, England, creating 1,700 new jobs and it will also wear a compact suspension with double wishbone at the front and a multi-link at the rear.
