Tata will start manufacturing from 2017 a model of Jeep in India. This was announced by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the Indian company, with the two sides having jointly invested $280 million, creating the joint venture Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited.

This will create a new factory in the Ranjangaon city of India, which will become the fourth plant of Jeep outside the US, with the company to construct models today in Europe and Brazil, while from the fourth quarter of this year, they will open their plant in China.
It is worth noting that 1/5 of new car sales that took place in India in 2014 were SUVs and the Indian market is expected to become by 2020 the third largest auto market in the world, behind that of China and USA.
