MINI is preparing the new generation of the Countryman, which according to the latest rumors will grow in size and it will be more of an SUV and not anymore a crossover.

The new Countryman will share the same chassis as that of the Clubman and it will have a bigger ground clearance. It will be available with four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, while it will be offered with ha front wheel drive and a four wheel drive system. It is expected to have a plug-in hybrid version that combines a 1.5 liter three-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, while it will go on sale in the last quarter of 2016.
