The classic cars of Porsche always have a special place in every auction. Also every fan of classic cars is fascinated about forgotten vehicles that need restoration to turn back to their glorious days.

1957 Porsche 356 Speedster heads to auction

The Porsche that you see in the picture above, is the legendary 356 Speedster, one of the first Porsche ever released. The car was discovered in Chicago where it was forgotten for forty years and it will be auctioned by Auctions America in November in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where it is expected to reach $200,000 to $250,000.

The car came out from the Stuttgart factory on March 5 of 1957, for exportation to the US, so it also has its “rubber” bumpers, necessary for approval in the US. In June of the same year it was bought by Mr. John Casper that kept it all his life. Although Mr. Casper was active in the Porsche community, participating in several events, this vehicle never came to the track. In 1975 he parked it and never moved it again. In 2012 he died and the property title went to a friend, who “dug up” the car just before one month.
