RM Sotheby’s will auction this Saturday May 2, an extremely rare car with a huge history. The car is a 1962 Shelby 289 Competition Cobra with a chassis number CSX 2011 and it is estimated to sell for a price from $2.2 to $2.6 million.

The car was the first race car of Shelby Cobra that was sold to a private individual and it belonged to its owner for over 40 years. It is equipped with 289 cubic inch V8 engine producing 340 hp, combined with a manual transmission. The car also has independent suspension on each axle, four disc brakes and special shock absorbers.
