BMW presented the X5 M and X6 M, which will make their debut in Los Angeles. From a visual standpoint, the two quick German performance crossovers are equipped with an aggressive grille, larger air intakes, new side mirrors, gills in the front fenders, new side skirts, quad exhaust tailpipes and 20 inch alloy wheels 20 with Michelin Pilot Super Sport UHP tires dimensions 285/40 front and 325/35 rear.
They are equipped with a 4.4 liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 575 hp with 750 Nm of torque combined with a new 8-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic Drivelogic. The 0-100 km/h in both cars comes in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 250 km/h , electronically limited. However it is possible to remove the limiter so that the top speed rises to 280 km/h.
The X5 M weighs 2,275 kg and the X6 M 2.265 kg. The brakes are composed of ventilated discs with six-piston calipers front and one piston calipers at the rear. Both cars have an average consumption of 11.1 liters/100 km and 258 g/km emissions of CO2. The steering has been improved as well as the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system and the suspension system consisting of double wishbones front and self-leveling air suspension at the rear with electrically adjustable shock absorbers with three settings Comfort, Sport and Sport +. The height of the suspension has been reduced by 10 mm, with both models being 20% more economical in terms of fuel consumption and emissions of CO2, compared to those they replace.
They are available in two new colors exclusively for them, the Long Beach Blue Metallic and Donington Grey Metallic and the interior features aluminum, Alcantara roof, sports seats and carbon decorations.
