Ford presented the new Galaxy, which is based on the platform of the S-Max, but it is longer and taller. Its flat floor makes it easier to load bulky items, with the luggage compartment to have the Cargo Management System system that offers 20 liters of hidden storage space.
The fourth generation of the Galaxy is available with six engines, consisting of two petrol and four diesel engines. Among the engines there is a 2.0 liter TDCi Bi-turbo producing 210 hp with 450 Nm of torque, there is also a 2.0 liter engine producing from 120 to 180 hp. In terms of gasoline there is a 1.5 liter Ecoboost producing 160 hp and a 2 liter Ecoboost producing 240 hp.
The occupants of the second and third row have 10 mm more space available, in comparison to the previous generation.
The independent rear suspension has been improved to offer better comfort and handling, with the Continuous Control Damping system having three settings (comfort, normal and sport). In terms of security systems the car can be equipped with the Curve Control, Roll Stability Control, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Glare-Free Highbeam and Ford Adaptive Steering systems, while the interior can be customized with the Sync 2 infotainment system with a voice control. The manufacturing process will take place at Ford’s plant in Valencia, Spain.
