Ford presented the facelift version of the Explorer at the Los Angeles auto show. The 2016 Ford Explorer features a new front bumper, new grille and new lights both front and rear.
The interior featured better quality materials (in comparison to its predecessor) and the center console touch buttons have been changed with “real” ones.
The 2016 Explorer, will also offer a new, top version named Platinum, which stands out from the rest thanks its LED lights, the dual sunroof and the bi-colored 20 inch alloy wheels. The interior of the Platinum version features leather seats, wood and aluminum decorations. The Explorer Platinum will have as standard equipment a digital dashboard, a 500 Watt audio system from Sony and an aluminum logo of Ford on the steering wheel.
The car is equipped with a 2.3 liter Ecoboost (the same engine as the 2015 Mustang), which produces “at least” 270 hp and 406 Nm of torque and while it is more powerful than its predecessor, Ford says that it maintains the same fuel consumption. Sales of the Explorer facelift will begin next summer and the price will be announced in 2015.
