BMW unveiled at the Paris auto show the X2 in a pre-production form. The car is expected to be launched within the next year, and probably in the autumn of 2017.

The X2 is essentially the coupe version of the X1. With this model, BMW wants to target a more youthful audience who wants to stand out. The car features the characteristic mask of the company with big “kidneys”, while the front bumper incorporates large air intakes. Its lights have laser technology and are quite small in size, tying harmoniously with the rest of the front.
The X2 Concept has a strongly sloping roof line, while it rests on 21-inch wheels. On the back it has circular exhaust tailpipes and a diffuser, with the rear LED lights having more angles.
It will be built on the front-wheel drive UKL platform and mechanically it will be offered with the same three-cylinder and four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines as the X1. The engines will be combined with manual and automatic gearboxes, with the all-wheel drive xDrive system to be available on the additional equipment. On top of the list there will be the M Performance version, while BMW might also release a plug-in hybrid version
