The new Honda Civic will be built at the Japanese company’s factory in Swindon, England and it will be exported to America, while in terms of engines it will be available with a turbo 1.5 liter, already available in the Civic Sedan and Coupe, yielding 174 and 180 hp, with 220 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the CVT gearbox will be available as optional.
The European model will be offered with a new 1-liter three-cylinder turbo engine and a 1.6-liter i-DTEC turbo diesel, with more details to be revealed later this year.
The new Civic will have an independent rear suspension that will be placed in a separate sub-frame, replacing the torsion beam used by the current generation. This change will bring a 25% increase in stiffness of tthe new Civic compared to the previous one. The official presentation is expected to happen at the Paris auto show in October, with its sales to start from the beginning of 2017.
