Honda presented officially the new Civic Type R. The fast version of the new Civic has a muscular design, with its front part having a new, aggressive bumper with a large splitter and red details.
The hood has an air intake, for better heat dissipation from the engine compartment, with the car having wide fenders at the front and rear. Its rear part features a huge diffuser with three exhaust tailpipes and a big spoiler. The new Civic Type R stands on 20-inch black alloy wheels, which are dressed with ContiSportContact tires.
Mechanically, the new Type R will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine, that produces 320 hp at 6,500 rpm with 393 Nm of torque, available from 2,500 up to 4,500 rpm.
The power will be transferred to the front axle, through a limited slip differential. The car has three driving modes, Comfort, Sport, and + R, that can be change the settings of the wheel, the suspensions, the response of the gas pedal, the engine rev matching, as well as the stability system.
Its interior features red seats, a 7-inch screen, a navigation system and optionally a 540 watt audio system with 12 speakers.
Finally, Honda’s goal for the new generation of the Civic Type R is getting back the record of the fastest lap time of a front wheel drive car at Nurburgring.
