Citroen officially announced the DS3 and the DS3 Cabrio facelift. The cars stand out mainly due to the new Xenon/LED lights, whose design is derived from the corresponding lights of the prototypes Numero 9 and Rubis. According to Citroen, the new light fixtures are 35 % more efficient on low beam, and 75 % at high beam relative to the light fixtures with halogen lamps and have a lifespan 20 times longer, reaching 20,000 hours.

They also have a new personalization options both for the interior and the exterior, two new colors (Pearl White in hatchback and Belle-Ile Blue in cabrio) and new 17 inch wheels.

Mechanically the DS3 gets a new Blue HDi 100 and Blue HDi 120 engine which consume less fuel, but performs better. The first engine needs just three litres/100 km emitting 79 g/km of CO2, while the Blue HDi 120 requires 3.6 l/100 km emitting 94 g/km CO2.A PureTech e-VTi 82 ETG will also be aviailable combined with the five-speed automatic gearbox Efficient Tronic Gearbox (ETG) with an average consumption of 4.1 l/100 km and 95 g/km emissions of CO2.
