Back in 1997 Alfa Romeo presented the Scighera, a concept car that never passed in production. The car was designed by ItalDesign. It was partly based on the Alfa Romeo 164, but its chassis was made of aluminum and carbon fiber.

It was equipped with a 3 liter V6 engine with two turbos, producing 405 hp at 7,500 rpm, that enabled it to have a top speed of nearly 300 km/h.
