Mazda presented at the Tokyo auto show the RX-Vision concept and now rumors say that the new RX model of the company will go on sale in 2017, to celebrate the 50th birthday of the rotary engine.

The new model will be equipped with a two rotor engine producing over 450 hp, with the power passing to the rear wheels. The company is also preparing a two-stage turbo, combining an electric turbo which will enter into operation at low speeds, with a classic turbo that will work while at higher speeds.
The engine of the car will be positioned in the front, while its automatic double-clutch gearbox will be built on the rear axle. The new RX model will probably be called RX-9 and it will have a length shorter by 20 cm, compared to the RX-Vision, while it will weigh less than 1,400 kilos.
