This is the turbo version of the 458 Italia, which was not named 488M, but 488 GTB.  The Italian supercar is 4.568 mm long, 1.952 mm wide, 1.213 mm high, it weighs 1,370 kilos, it has a weight ratio of 46.5% on the front and 53.5% on the back, with an average consumption of 11.4 liters/100 km and 260 g/km CO2 emissions.

It is equipped with a 3.902 ml V8 engine which delivers 670 hp at 8,000 rpm with 760 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h is achieved in 3 seconds, the 0-200 km/h in 8.3 seconds, with a top speed of 330 km/h.

The Ferrari 488 GTB will debut at the Geneva auto show in March, with the Ferrari saying that the car takes full advantage of all the know-how gained during the last decade from its engineers. The throttle has a response time of just 0.8 seconds at 2,000 rpm, with the 488 GTB running Fiorano in 1 minute and 23 seconds.

The gearbox has seven relations and a variable torque management, so that the huge torque of the engine runs smoothly throughout the rev range, with the gear ratios to offer “incredible” progressive acceleration.

Significant changes have been made also in the aerodynamics of the car, which has an efficiency of 1.67, the highest in a Ferrari production model. The car produces 50% more downforce than the 458 Italia, and it features a new double front spoiler, new side skirts, new rear bumper with diffuser, spoiler and active aerodynamics.

The design of the car was done by the Ferrari Styling Centre and not by Pininfarina, having a more sculptural and flowing design compared to the 458 Italia, with large air intakes on the side coming from the 308 GTB. The rear lights have been redesigned, with the dual exhaust tailpipes placed above the diffuser.

The large front spoiler has a double profile for improved thermal performance, with the double central elements of the front bumper to be combined with a deflector which channels air to the car’s underbody. The rear features a spoiler which creates downforce without increasing drag. This works in conjunction with the diffuser equipped with active flaps.

Ferrari has upgraded the Side Slip Control System 2 (SSC2), making it more accurate and less invasive, providing more longitudinal accelerating out of turns.

The interior of the car features almost all the switches on the steering wheel, an information and entertainment system with a redesigned interface, new seats and a new key.
