Jaguar presented the brand new XF, which will make its official debut at the New York auto show next week. The car features LED headlights, a new bonnet and an integrated spoiler.
The car is constructed on the new aluminum platform iQ [Al] used also by the XE, with 75% of it being aluminum, this helps the XF weigh 190 kg less than the previous generation. The torsional stiffness has been increased by 28%, the weight ratio is nearly 50:50 and the suspension consists of double wishbone front, with Jaguar to equip the car with the Adaptive Dynamics system which automatically adjusts the damping. The car has a length of 7 mm less than the previous generation and its wheelbase has been increased by 51 mm, reaching 2960 mm.
The car will be available with a 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel engine producing 163 hp with 380 Nm of torque having an average fuel consumption of 4.0 liters / 100 km. There will also be a 3.0 liter V6 supercharger producing 380 hp with 450 Nm torque. All engines will be combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, with the 2.0 liter Ingenium diesel being also available with a 6 speed manual gearbox.
The interior features better quality materials, metallic decorations and a rotary gear selector. The dashboard is completely digital and it is 12.3 inches big, while a large 10.2 inch screen is placed on top of the center console, connected with the infotainment system. The car also has an advanced sound system of Meridian with 17 speakers, producing 825 Watt.
