Volkswagen unveiled at this year’s Wörthersee, the Design Vision GTI Concept, a very fast racing GTI Concept.

It features a new front bumper with large air intakes and a carbon spoiler. Lights are also new, although they follow the same philosophy as those of the production version. On the side there are carbon side skirts, at the rear a spoiler,a new bumper with diffuser and new light fixtures, and finally it wears 20-inch alloy wheels with tires measuring 235/35 front and 275/30 rear.
It has a length of 4.253 mm, 15 mm less than the production version of Golf GTI, height of 1.385 mm (-57 mm in relation to the production Golf GTI) width and 1.870 mm (1.799 mm the production version). Regarding the tracks, the front has grown to 1.595 mm (57mm more than the production version of the Golf GTI) and the rear to 1.579 mm (63 mm more than the production version of the Golf GTI).
It is equipped with a V6 3.0-liter TSI biturbo engine producing 503 horsepower at 6,500 rpm with 560 Nm of torque from 4,000 through 6,000 rpm (500 Nm from 2,000 rpm) and combined with a DSG gearbox which sends the power to all four wheels. The 0-100 km/h is achieved in 3.9 seconds and it has a top speed of 300 km/h. For breaking it uses, carbon ceramic discs measuring 380 mm front and 356 mm rear with red calipers.
It is painted in three colors (white, red and black), while inside there are fewer switches in comparison to the production version of the Golf GTI. The paddles of the DSG, the engine start button and the selection button of programs (Street, Sport and Track) are incorporated in the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The Switches for the air conditioning system, the ESP, the main power switch and the fire extinguisher switch are integrated on the center console.
At the top of the console there is a large digital screen which gives the driver many information, and can communicate with other vehicles and calculates the current state of a race in real time.
Finally, the sports bucket seats are covered with alcantara and nappa leather in black and red as well as many decorations in carbon. In the area of the rear seats there is a tubular X shape roll bar which increases the rigidity of the body.
