Audi presented the new generation of the A4 whcih will make its official debut on the Frankfurt auto show in September. The car features a new wider and larger hexagonal grille, new lights with integrated LED daytime running lights and new lights at the rear with the sharp-edged LED graphics.
Despite the slight increase in the dimensions of the car, due to the use of steel and the aluminum body of the car, the overall weight is up to 120 kilos less, compared with the previous generation.
The interior features a new three-spoke steering wheel, a new gear knob and a new center console, which has a screen for the infotainment system, as well as the controls for the audio and air conditioner.
Mechanically, the new A4 will initially be available with three four-cylinder TFSI gasoline engines and 3 TDI diesel engine producing from 150 to 272 hp.
The new four-cylinder 1.4 liter TFSI engine delivers 150 hp with 250 Nm of torque, combined with a 7-speed automatic transmission, that helps the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, with its top speed reaching 210 km/h.
The car will also be available with a 2 liter TFSI engine, offered in two versions. The first one produces 190 hp with 320 Nm of torque, and the second one 252 hp with 370 Nm of torque.
On the other hand the 2 liter TDI engine produces 150 hp with 320 Nm of torque on one version and 190 hp with 400 Nm of torque on another version.
The new A4 has a five-point multi-link rear suspension for both the front and the rear axle. The parts of the front suspension are mainly made of aluminum, reducing unsprung weight by 8 kg, while theweight at the rear is reduced by 5 kg.
