Cadillac officially presented the CTS-V at the Detroit auto show. The quick version of the CTS is equipped with a 6.2 liters V8 engine that delivers 640 hp and 855 Nm of torque. The engine is the same as that of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, but in this case it has 10 hp and 27 Nm of torque less.
The power is transferred to the rear wheels through an automatic gearbox of eight relations. The Cadillac CTS-V does the 0-96 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and it has a top speed of 321 km/h.
It stands on 19 inch alloy wheels, with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and Brembo brakes consisting of 390 mm discs with six-piston calipers on the front axle. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V weighs 1,880 kilos, less than many other cars in its category.
Externally, it features a front splitter, a rear spoiler and a diffuser. The aerodynamic package is available unpainted for those who prefer the look of carbon. The interior features decorative carbon fiber, microfiber suede upholstery and Recaro seats. In terms of equipment, the car will be offered with the Performance Data Recorder of GM and other technological goodies like Siri Eyes Free, the OnStar with 4G-LTE, the CUE infotainment system and a Bose audio system. The launch of the car will be made in late summer.
