It was September 29, 1966, when the first Chevrolet Camaro came out from the company’s production line. Chevrolet wanted to use the Camaro, to compete with the Mustang. To celebrate 50 years of the Camaro, Chevrolet presented the 50th Anniversary Edition Pack which offers a special equipment package for the famous muscle car.

The Camaro started as a project in 1963 with the name Panther. At that time the Mustang did not have an opponent so Chevrolet decided to build a car with the same features. Thus, in 1966 the Camaro was presented as 1967 model, with its initial sales being good but not enough to overcome the Mustang. In 1970, Chevrolet release the second generation, in 1981 the third and in 1993 the fourth.
Sales began to decline and in 2002 and the company decided to stop production, but in 2006 they presented the Camaro concept, with its production version being released in 2009 and its appearance being strongly reminiscent of the original 1966 Camaro. The current sixth generation was introduced in 2015 and it is based on the new Alpha platform.
The 50th Anniversary Edition Pack is available for the Camaro 2LT wearing the 2 liter engine and the 2SS wearing the 6.2 liter V8. The package includes a special gray Nightfall Gray color with black and orange stripes, new 20-inch alloy wheels specifically made for this edition, a grille with a satin chrome decoration, orange brake calipers and an interior featuring black leather and suede with orange stitching and “50th Anniversary” logos.
Chevrolet has created a special website, that allows visitors to discover the history of the Camaro and to see some videos of the old model, old commercials and archival footage for the car.
