Detroit Electric, is preparing two new models. The American company became known with the SP: 01, which had as its basis the Lotus Elise, following the same tactic as Tesla, in the early stages.

The company will soon begin the development of two new models, which will join the SP:01. The first model will be a fully electric SUV and the second a sedan.

These models are expected to be released in 2019 and will share the same platform, which will be brand new. With these three models, the American company hopes to reach an annual production of 50,000-60,000 units per year.

The SP:01 will be available for sale in Asia and Europe quite soon. It is available in two versions, the basic Pure version that delivers 204 hp with 280 Nm of torque, being able to do the 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, with its top speed reaching 170 km/h.

The Performance version, produces 286 hp with 280 Nm of torque, having a top speed of 250 km/h, being able to do the 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Both versions have a 37 kWh battery that gives them an autonomy of 288 km. The SP:01 is manufactured in England and it will be sold in Europe, Asia, North America, Africa and the Middle East, with its prices not being announced.
