Ferrari officially presented the FXX K, the powerful track-only version of the LaFerrari with more horsepower, much more aggressive look and even more technology.
The FXX K, is driven by the same atmospheric V12 engine of 6262 cc as the LaFerrari, which thanks to new camshafts, redesigns and polished air intakes and new exhaust system without silencer delivers 1,050 hp and more than 900 Nm of torque. The 860 hp come from the conventional engine and the other 190 from the electric motor. The HY-KERS system has been developed specifically for absolute performance and its function can be set to 4 settings: Qualify, for the full potential, but lasting a few laps, Long Run compromising between performance and durability , Manual Boost for immediate, maximum torque and Fast Charge for the fastest possible charge the battery FXX K.
The front of the FXX K features a 30 mm lower splitter, the spoiler with the double profile and a complex device at the side of the bumper with obvious influences from motorsports.
At the back, the “tail” of the FXX K is slightly higher while the active spoiler is fully extended up to 60 mm. There are also two vertical fins and two small airfoils on each side of the rear part. The goal of course of all this is to improve the aerodynamic downforce produced and the overall aerodynamic performance of the car. For this purpose the diffuser has also changed and the floor of the FXX K. The result is an increase of 50% on downforce at the “low-drag” configuration and an increase of 30% at the most “aggressive” configuration. More specifically, in the last configuration, the FXX K produces 540 kg of downforce at 200 km/h.
The cars stands on slick Pirelli tires with sensors for monitoring the loads, accelerations, pressures and temperatures. Finally, the settings of the E-Diff electronic differential, the F-Trac traction control, the Racing SSC (Side Slip Angle Control) and ABS, are adjustable by the driver.
