The first of the four Ford GT40 roadster used in the development of the legendary car will be auctioned in August in Monterey by RM Auctions.

The GT40 with a chassis number GT/108, was built by Ford Advanced Vehicles in March 1965 and since then it has been driven by people like Ken Miles, Carroll Shelby and Jim Clark. Unlike most GT40s, this has not taken part in competitions.

Besides its importance for what it is, this prototype stands out from other because it is really authentic, both mechanically and stylistically (with unique front and rear) . For the record, previous similar vehicles such as the GT40 used as a camera car for the film “Le Mans” of Steve McQueen, was sold for $ 11,000,000 while another prototype GT40, sold in Houston last month for $7,000,000. This car is expected to surpass both.
