As announced by Ford, the Formula Ford 2015 will have a carbon monocoque chassis, so it complies with the regulations of Formula 4 FIA. Ford also will create a new race series to fulfill the vision of the FIA, that wants young drivers to have an easier access to racing cars, so that someday they can even get behind the wheel of a car of Formula 1.
The carbon monocoque chassis meets the FIA F3 safety standards and mechanically it is equipped with a 1.6 liter Ecoboost engine combined with a semi-automatic gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel. Testing of the new car will start in the summer, the car’s price starts at €38,000.
