Honda presented the production version of the Civic Type-R, one day before its debut at the Geneva Motor show.

The car features a new front bumper, lip spoiler, black grille, new rear bumper, diffuser, large rear spoiler and side skirts. It stands on 19 inch wheels with 235/35 tires. The front brakes are from Brembo, with perforated disks of 350 mm and four-piston calipers.
The car is equipped with a 2.0 liter turbo VTEC petrol engine that delivers 310 hp at 6,500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. The engine is combined with a six-speed, manual transmission while the power is passed on the road by the front wheels, after going through a mechanical limited slip differential. The 100 km/h from a standstill comes in 5.7 seconds, while the top speed is 270 km/h.

Honda says that the Civic Type-R is equipped with “a number of innovative new systems on the suspension” intended to maximize the traction. One of these systems is the “Dual Axis Strut” in the front suspension, something like the RevoKnuckle of Ford. Also, Honda equipped the Civic Type-R with adaptive shock absorbers and power steering with new settings for better response and feel.
The interior features leather with red stitching and a new instrument panel with red lights. The interorior also has the Start/Stop button of the engine and the + R button, that changes various parameters, such as the response of the engine, the steering response and the Adaptive Damper System.
