Lada’s brand new weapon for the World Touring Car Championship FIA (WTCC), will be based on the new Lada Vesta, which will be presented at the International Motor Show in Moscow (August 27 – September 7).
This was confirmed by the President of the Lada, Bo Andersson, the Vesta is a completely new sedan on the B class, which will replace the Lada Priora and is scheduled to go into production in September next year.
AVTOVAZ is in the process of preparation of production and has started to build the first prototypes of the Vesta, which will be based on a new platform of the Lada class B, incorporating the new design concept of the Russian manufacturer, having inherited the DNA from the prototype Lada X-Ray, presented at the Moscow Motor Show in 2012.
The expert engineers of Lada Sport believe that the size and dimensions of Lada Vesta is ideal for building a competitive race car, the development of which has already begun.
Mr. Andersson in an interview with Russian news agency ITAR-TASS said:
The races are the right approach for Lada. We have many fans and people who support this program, so the company’s involvement in motorsport is important and we must win. Guests at the Moscow Auto Show will have a chance to see the new racing Lada Vesta designed to participate in the World Touring Car Championship of FIA (WTCC).
