Smart tomorrow night will present the new ForTwo and ForFour, but today published the first sketches of the new ForTwo. According to the company, the new ForTwo is just one millimeter longer than its predecessor, but it will offer more in every aspect, such as comfort, safety, functionality and driving pleasure.
We see that the car borrows design elements from the Smart Forstars Concept while inside the Smart has placed circular air vents, an infotainment system with a large touch screen, three-spoke steering wheel and a large cluster. The cabin is larger and equipped with colorful decorations.
The Smart ForTwo will share 70% of its mechanical parts with the Renault Twingo, keeping both the engine the rear wheel drive system. The length will remain the same as that of the current generation (2,692 mm) while it will have 1.25 meters smaller turning circle (just 7.5 meters) giving it extreme flexibility. The cabin will be larger and will be equipped with colorful decorations and a large touchscreen.
It will be offered as a coupe or a convertible with a fabric roof. It will be available with a three-cylinder, 0.9 liter TCe engine producing 90 hp and 135 Nm of torque, a 1 liter AP SCe with 70 hp and 91 Nm torque and a three-cylinder diesel engine. Finally, the Brabus version will produce 100 hp. As for transmissions, rumors say that it will have a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, dual-clutch design and there will be a purely electric version with an 87 hp electric motor.
