The first motorcycle of Lotus was officially presented! The C-01 is “dressed” with impressive “traditional” colors and produces 200 hp from a V-2 of 1.2 liter engine.
The C-01 was constructed, with permission granted by the Lotus, by the racing team Kodewa GmbH & Co. KG ( partnered with Lotus for endurance racing with cars) with the support of Holzer Group. It was designed by Daniel Simon, who has previously worked for Bugatti, Lamborghini and VW and has designed the vehicles for the films «Captain America» and «Tron: Legacy».
The evolution of the C-01 design that resembles something between a dragster and a café racer with a fully covered frame and engine, lasted two years and according to the people of the company the c-01’s production start will start in a few months.
Lotus has not officially announced in the press release, however , according to the website Visordown, the V twin with an included angle of 75 degrees from the KTM RC8 superbike has received improvements especially for the occasion. According to Lotus, the power of the engine reaches 200 hp, while according to Visordown the motorcycle’s weight is 180 kilos. It has a wheelbase of 1,645 mm while the frame parts are made from steel, titanium and carbon. It features a 6-speed gearbox.
The bike will be produced in only 100 copies, which will be available in multiple color options. As you can see in the photos, some coming directly from the four-wheel history of Lotus and its participation in competitions.
