Mazda announced that they are recalling 193,484 CX-9 that are constructed from 24 October 2006 to 28 December 2013. These vehicles, have a possibility to have a corrosion on some joints of the suspension because of water. If this happens the lower control arm of the front suspension can be detached and the car will be left without a wheel, which can obviously lead to an accident.
Mazda has announced that they will replace the lower control arm in both the left and right side, free of charge, but the work will be done gradually, according to the year of construction of the vehicle and also the area where the client lives.
