McLaren announced the start of the production of its Sports Series models, with the 570S having already more than 1,000 orders. The production of the 540C will follow in the coming weeks, with McLaren to present in the next two years both the 570 Spider and the 570S Gran Turismo. McLaren’s goal is to sell until 2018 4.000 cars each year.
Both the 540C and the 570S wear the MonoCell II chassis of McLaren and they are equipped with a 3.8 liter V8 twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers 540 hp and 540 Nm of torque for the 540C and 570 hp with 600 Nm of torque for the 570S. The 540C does the 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, while the 570S in 3.2 seconds. Regarding their top speed, the 570S can reach 328 km/h, with the 540C being able to do 320 km/h.
