Mercedes presented officially the new member of the E-Class family, the E-Class All-Terrain that will make its debut next week at the Paris auto show. With this version, Mercedes wants to compete with the Audi A6 Allroad and the brand new Volvo V90 Cross Country.

The car has a slightly more rugged appearance than the E-Class Estate and it features a protective plastic cover at the bottom, new bumpers, roof rails and new wheels. It also has the adjustable Air Body Control suspension that can adjust up to 35 mm. This means that the car can have up to 156 mm of distance from the ground when the suspension is set to the highest setting.
Mercedes has set up the four-wheel drive system exclusively for the All-Terrain. The car stands on 19-inch wheels and its tires are designed for improving its off-road capabilities and driving comfort in any kind of terrain.
Initially, the E-Class All-Terrain will be offered with a new four-cylinder 2-liter diesel engine producing 194 hp with 400 Nm of torque, combined with an automatic 9G-tronic gearbox that enables it to do the 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds and to have a top speed of 232 km/hour. Its average fuel consumption is 5.1 liters/100 km and it emits 137 gr of CO2 per km. Later in 2017 Mercedes will be add the E220d 4MATIC All-Terrain and the E350d.
Mercedes will reveal all the details and prices of the car in early 2017, with its launch to take place in the spring.
