Mini presented officially the brand new Clubman, before the car makes its debut at the Frankfurt auto show. The new Clubman is not only larger than its predecessor, but it is also prettier.
The new Clubman, is 4.25 meters long, almost 30 centimeters longer than its predecessor and it has a height of 1.44 meters. It weighs 1,300 kilos and it is based on the UKL platform, the same one used for the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer.
It has a luggage space capacity of 360 liters, which goes up to 1,250 liters with the seats folded and it will initially be available with two turbo gasoline engines and a turbo diesel engine.
The engines will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6 or 8-speed automatic. The basic Clubman, will be equipped with a three-cylinder, 1.5 liter engine with 136 hp that enables the car to do the 0-100 km/h in 9.1 seconds, having a top speed of 204 km/h.
The most expensive version will be equipped with a four-cylinder 2 liter engine producing 192 hp, that allows the Clubman to do the 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, having a top speed of 228 km/h. Finally the version equipped with the four-cylinder 2 liter diesel engine will produce 150 hp and it will be able to do the 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, having a top speed of 212 km/h.
