New details became known about the next generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. The German roadster goes on sale in 2019 and will be available with both a soft top and hard top roof.
It will be built on the new MSA modular platform, on which the next SLK will be based, allowing the two cars share many parts. The chassis will be manufactured in Bremen with the new platform enabling Mercedes-Benz to build up cars with different lengths, widths, heights and wheelbase.
The new generation of the SL is lighter than the present, it may be available in a four-seater version if there is demand and rumors are saying that it will be available with a four-wheel drive and a plug-in hybrid.
