In 1976 the Alfa Romeo collaborated with Bertone and produced the Navajo Concept, which was based on the tubular chassis of the 33 and it was presented at the Geneva auto show of 1976. The car had pop-up lights, which were positioned in the front fenders and an angular design.

It was equipped with a 2 liter V8 engine producing 230 hp at 8,800 rpm and it had a weight of 870 kilos thanks to the lightweight chassis and the body made of polyester, it also had a length of 3.8 meters and a height of only 1.05 meters.
