The Volkswagen W12 Coupe is one of those concept cars that almost everybody remembers. Its sleek design and sporty characteristics, had many Volkswagen fans begging for it to be released on the market.
It was equipped with a 6.0-liter W12 48 valve engine producing 600 hp at 7,000 rpm with 620 Nm of torque at 5,800 rpm that enabled it to have a top speed of 350 km/h and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 3.5 seconds, that was extremely fast 16 years ago.
The car had a weight distribution close to 50:50, a six-speed sequential gearbox and a Brembo braking system with ventilated discs. It was equipped with many security systems such as an ESP and traction control. In addition, the electronic differential prevented the wheels from spinning at speeds below 40 km/h. Its interior featured a leather upholstery and aluminum and carbon decorations.
