According to rumors Opel is preparing the new generation of the Insignia that will be based on the Global Epsilon platform of GM. It will be 15 centimeters longer than the current model, while its wheelbase will increase by 10 centimeters, in order to provide more space for the rear passengers.
The model will be launched two years from now and its design will borrow elements from the Monza concept. It will be available in both a sedan and estate version.
Mechanically it will be offered with many new and upgraded three-cylinder and four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. The OPC version of the car will be equipped with a six-cylinder turbo petrol engine, that will produce over 350 hp.
