Subaru presented one month ago the Impreza Sedan Concept and now rumors say that the next generation of the Impreza WRX STI might be a hybrid. During the presentation of the concept, the head of the company, Yasuyuki Yoshinaga announced that the Subaru Global Platform will be the base for the new Impreza and for the Impreza WRX STI.

The new WRX STI will have an aggressive design, with wide fenders, carbon fiber air ducts, a spoiler and a diffuser. It will be equipped with a renewed, turbocharged version of the FA20, boxer engine that will be combined with a six-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission and a hybrid system, with its horsepower to exceed 320 hp. The model is expected to be presented sometime in 2017.
