The i8 is one of the most impressive cars on the market and there are many who would like to have a more powerful engine that gives it a much more sporty character. The current model is equipped with a 1.5 liter three-cylinder gasoline engine, combined with two electric motors that produce 362 hp.

According to rumors the engine will be upgraded and will produce more horses in the next generation of the car, that is currently being prepared.

The second generation of the i8 is expected to be presented sometime in 2022 or 2023, it will continue to have an internal combustion engine, but it will be combined with three electric motors, with their total power reaching 750 hp, almost twice the yield compared to the current ones.

Apart from the new powertrain, the car will get a four-wheel drive system and an upgraded differential system, which will make it a real supercar. It is also very likely, that the new i8 will have an active suspension system which scans the road and can be adapted accordingly.
