Suzuki India today, presented a new 0.8 liter two-cylinder turbo diesel engine, called E08A. The engine is the first diesel engine built by Suzuki for a passenger car and it has a capacity of 793 ml. It will be placed in the Celerio sold in the Indian market.
The engine delivers 48 hp at 3,500 rpm with 125 Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm. The Celerio with this engine has an average fuel consumption of 3.6 liters/100 km, making it the most efficient vehicle ever in India. The engine has a compression ratio of 15: 1, with Suzuki saying that the engine is very quiet.
