Tesla announced that at the second quarter of 2015 they sold 11,507 Model S, thus making a new sales record of selling 52% more cars, than what they did in the corresponding quarter of 2014. In the first half of 2015, the company sold 21.552 Model S, having a goal to sell 55,000 cars by the end of the year, with the Model X to contribute to this goal.
